" I entirely concur with my actor-colleagues that the late Jeremy Brett, whom I had the pleasure of knowing, should be awarded a posthumous BAFTA for his distinguished and captivating career. So many other less experienced artists have been recognized by their country. It seems a crying shame to ignore Jeremy and his outstanding contributions to our profession. His Sherlock Holmes for example, which made him an international star, is the best interpretation of the role I have ever seen - the most complete, the most eccentric, the truest by far. This alone would be enough surely to warrant such a prestigious prize.
